01/12/2011 - Our openingevent, a Duvel-ish success!

The opening of our new business premises on November 17th can certainly be called a success. About 350 guests got a flavor of our new building and the activities we deploy in it. They also witnessed splashing shows by The Spikes and Domino but the star of the evening was the robot that pours the perfect ‘Duvel’.

All participants agree that this was a fantastic party of which the building and robot were the stars. The robot really was the high point of the evening. The way he got a bottle of Duvel out of the case, took the cap of, and more than professionally poured it with the right head, got a lot of attention. It is not often that a robot gets this much applause.

During the speeches that preceded this short show, Mayor Hilde Claes stressed the fact that Hasselt, after the economic downturn with Philips leaving the city, has more than recovered and that the Research Campus now employs more people than the 1200 that used to work for Philips before it closed the site.

Director Reginald Vossen of BAN Vlaanderen (Flanders) underlined, amongst other things, the importance of a well designed business plan and a vision for the future for young entrepreneurs.

Rene Voorhorst of National Instruments presented Roel Geraerts and Kurt Hensen with an award as 20 years Alliance Partner.

Finally, Kurt Hensen presented a brief history of the company and expressed his gratitude to the employees for their dedication and perseverance, without which the company would not exist.
